Lisa Edelstein, Dr. Cuddy on House, Leaves The Series

Dr. Cuddy will be missed by fans

Yes, Lisa Edelstein, a.k.a. Dr. Cuddy on popular TV series House, is truly leaving.

House M.D.'s Lisa Edelstein will not be returning. She was known for her role as Dr. Cuddy on series "House" and will not be in the next season of the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources close to production. Edelstein, the boss of the charismatic Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) from the start of the series, will not renew for the show's eighth season.

The actress's contract had been completed at the end of the seventh installment of the series, along with other performers like Omar Epps (Foreman), Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson), which itself will be in the new episodes of "House" after reaching an agreement with the producer.

Lisa Edelstein thanked via twitter her supportive followers after the news made public.

Edelstein will leave the show what could be one season shy of its finale; FOX ordered the eighth season last week, and speculation has been that it could be the show's last. Edelstein's departure will leave Olivia Wilde as the only regular female cast member, but with Wilde's hot movie career, she is rarely on full-time.
